General Questions:

Will you accept a scanned or faxed signature?

Ordinarily yes, but sometimes an item requires an original signature.  We also routinely accept affirmations or approvals sent by an individual from his/her own syr.edu email account.

Is there any information available about proposals submitted or awards made to my department or unit?

Could you explain the difference between a subaward or a purchased service activity?

Proposal Submission Questions:

Who can be a PI or co-PI and are exceptions to University policy possible?

The SU PI eligibility policy is available here; and from time-to-time, exceptions can be made, as described here.

Do I need to register for Grants.gov?

No, OSP is already registered for SU.

Who submits the grants.gov application?

OSP.  More information about Grants.gov is available here.

What documentation do I need from a subrecipient?

Documentation needed is presented here.

Is there a template for a statement of work?

Yes, available here.  This template should be used for your subrecipients, or your applications to corporate sponsors.

Is there a template for the NSF data management plan?

Not yet.  However guidance is available here.

When do you need my materials by?

OSP asks you get your complete and final materials to us three (3) business days before the deadline.

What is an allowable cost to a federal award?
