Guidelines on Tuition

Funds for cost-share tuition on sponsored activities are now provided by the Deans of schools and colleges and are linked to institutional overhead recovery.   Consequently, in all cases, funds available for tuition cost-sharing are limited.

Sponsored activities that recover the full, federally approved F&A rate (46.0% MTDC research, 27.7% training) may be eligible for cost-sharing of tuition expenses if approved by the college or school Dean.   You may cost-share an amount not to exceed that charged to the sponsor (1-to-1).  It is agreed that the sponsor account and the units tuition cost sharing account will be used equally to draw down the credit used.   Any unused tuition credit hours per academic year cannot be carried forward to the following academic year.   It is a “use it” or “lose it” tuition cost sharing commitment.
