When should the Statement of Work form be used?

For activities to be performed by a subrecipient when SU is lead

For subrecipients, OSP will confirm that the entity and any named individuals are eligible to receive federal funds and that the budget submitted is consistent with the sponsor’s requirements. PIs are reminded of their own obligation to confirm eligibility of individuals (i.e. they are not debarred or suspended from receiving federal funds) prior to formally engaging them by checking the Excluded Parties List at www.epsl.gov

For activities to be performed by SU faculty/staff when another organization is lead

For proposals to corporate sponsors or other organizations that don't have a formal application package.
What should be included in a statement of work1

Name of the PI(s);
-
Period of performance;

What, if any, additional project staffing will be needed;
-
What the project hopes to accomplish;
-
Where the work will be conducted;
-
What the measurable activities and tasks are, defined in a sufficient level of detail such that one can determine if the objectives are met;

What are the estimated milestones;
-
What, if any, special resources are required; and
-
When meetings are to occur and reports required, as applicable.
